Harry Garvis[5] (Surname unknown. More commonly referred to by his first name, Harry) is the deuteragonist of the Gummibär series, designed to form a group of Gummy's companions alongside Kala. Since his official debut on The Yummy Gummy Search for Santa and Gummibär & Friends where he showed a more promitent role, Harry has been appearing on numerous related products as one of Gummy's most loyal friends. Although Harry made his first appearance as a recurring character in the music video for Mr. Mister Gummibär, it was not until the Christmas special film where he was officially established as part of the main cast.
He appears as a paranoid, self-aware and intelligent chameleon who usually accompanies Gummy in most of his performances and adventures. In his isolated hobbies, Harry often experiments with science, whose experiments at sometimes prove to be a helpful aid to his other friends. However, his highly increased levels of worry and fear could reach the point of being completely insecure by himself. Despite his downsides, he is considered to be one of Gummy's most faithful and loyal friends whom he trusts.
The appearance of the character was designed by Erika Riha, and was initially voiced by Bruce Dinsmore[3] in the first Christmas special film. In the Gummibär & Friends animated television series, he was instead voiced by Adam Diggle[4] for both first and second seasons.
Appearance[]
Harry is a small, anthropomorphic, turquoise chameleon with black spots who has two round, small, yellow eyes and a long tail. He has skinny arms and legs, with two fingers on each hand and toes.
He often wears large black glasses and blue overall shorts with two yellow stars on the straps. He has the ability to change color depending on his mood and occasionally become invisible. In the music video "Mr. Mister Gummibar", he originally appears with yellow skin.
The inside of his mouth is dark red and has a pink tongue with which he can stretch when trying to catch objects, especially small insects such as flies.
Personality[]
Harry is depicted as one of the most paranoid members of the group. He is very easily startled and he often tends to play on a safe way, and can also be distrustful of other people. His interest on mathematics and math science is very noticeable, as he can sometimes show intelligence and self-awareness.
He may go too far in certain matters, exaggerating them and being too strict with them. For example in the episode "Crosswalk Guard", where Harry makes Gummy go crazy for how overly strict he is during his job as a crosswalk guard, while Gummy simply wants to cross the road.

Harry makes his first appearance in the music video. He is first seen driving a space ship through space, and in later scenes he is on the same ship as Gummibär.
The Yummy Gummy Search for Santa[]
Harry has a more important role in the movie, as he embarks on a mystery with Gummy, Kala and Vampiro who help him to solve the disappearance of Santa Claus.
Gummibär & Friends[]
Harry is one of the main characters of the show. He now lives with Gummy and Kala, and he goes on wacky adventures with them in every episode.

- His height is quite inconsistent. He is usually shown to be smaller than Gummy, but is occasionally shown to be the same height as him.
