Overview[]

The main Gummibär series centers on a green, joyful, energetic, and childlike gummy bear named Gummibär, who is featured as the titular character of the entire franchise. He has been depicted as a singing and dancing gummy bear who has notably performed and appeared in a series of Gummibär-related songs that have been also included in various albums. Gummibär's genre of music has been associated with dance, comedy, children's music, pop, rock, novelty, eurodance and bubblegum.

The franchise is generally known for its large number of music videos, where Gummibär stars as the main vocalist in the songs. It first debuted with the song I Am A Gummy Bear, which was initially released as a 30-second short video that would be uploaded on YouTube and other online video sharing platforms. These videos are often produced as CGI animation models and, on some ocassions, contemporary video-making techniques of different styles were also used in some of the videos, such as live-action and 2D animation.

In Gummibär & Friends, an animated television series released in 2016, Gummibär's personality and his relationships with Kala and Harry are more shown in depth, expanding the storyline of the series. Now living in an apartment separated from one and other, they interact with each other or other people who inhabit their town with different activities and routines. One of the new characters that were introduced in this series are Granny Peters, a mad scientist which she tends to keep a secret from Gummy and his friends, but also likes baking and gardening, and Mr. Kronk, who is depicted as Gummy's grouchy rival.
