Felix the Cat and his pal Gummibär; You Know It's Christmas is a duet between Gummy Bear and Felix the Cat of the song You Know It's Christmas.
It is presumed that this duet was made possible due to Christian Schneider having helped along with Joe Oriolo on the production of Felix the Cat: The Movie and gave him the rights to do a duet with the character. However, the song would become unavailable officially presumably due to DreamWorks gaining ownership of the Felix the Cat character and franchise in 2014, although it would be found on an archive of the website and uploaded toInternet Archive on May 7, 2023.
The song would have Gummy Bear singing while Felix says ad-libs relating to the lyrics. While being a duet, Felix remains mostly absent throughout the song.
The song would be released on both the official website and iTunes for the cost of only $1.00 (Both methods of purchasing the song now will always lead to a link malfunction).
Felix's Exclamations[]
The italicized text indicates it is spoken normally; The normal text indicates it is being sung.
Righty-O!
Watch out for the snowball!
Here I come!
Bi-du-bi-dam, bi-du-bi-dam
I can hear them ringing!
Oh, they're beautiful!
Wheeeee!!!
Nice sleigh!
Aw, so pretty!
Yummy, yummy.
Come on, everybody, let's go down the hill!
I love Christmas!
Everybody does.
Waah-ha-ha-ha-ha-hoooo!!!
Sing it, Gummy!
Aww yeah, get down!
Ding-dong (…) Ding-dong (…) Ding-dong (…)
Ooh, I love Gummy Bear!
Trivia[]
General[]
- Felix's "Ding-dong" solo is strangely intact in the regular version of the song on the Nuki Nuki album.
- This is the earliest instance of Gummibär being referred to as Gummy.
Comparison[]
- This is the first duet, the second being A Christmas for the Family with Englebert Humperdinck.
- Coincidentally, both songs are Christmas-themed.
