Cho Ka Ka O is a song performed by Gummibär that debuted on the album "I Am Your Gummy Bear". It is a cover of the song of the same name by Annie Cordy.
The song's language is sung in French and has been released in its own single and in the album "Funny Music" in France, as well as a music video that would be later uploaded to YouTube by The Official Gummibär Channel in 2008.
Music video[]
The video starts with Gummibär in a living room staring at a video game title playing on the TV screen before dreaming about himself being immersed in a tropical island from a virtual video game reality. While in this dream world, he aimlessly avoids obstacles while showing off his dance moves.
Eventually, some crabs join in too. Later scenes shows Gummibär falling in a cup after being chased by the crabs, while the rest of the video are mostly re-used scenes of them dancing. Lastly, Gummibär wakes up from his sleep.

Production[]
Music[]
The song was originally written by Patrick Bousquet, André Tabutin and Pierre Carrel, with Maci and Christian in charge of producing Gummibär's version. Aron Blankenburg was also involved as the co-producer.
An alternate version of the song was made for other languages using a different melody, possibly done to avoid paying the royalties to use the original song. The English language, unlike the other versions, has a separate version keeping the original instrumental that was later included in the Australian release of the single.
Animation[]
Information about the music video is scarce, other than being animated by the French company Dandy Films Paris, with Jérôme Combe and André Bessy as directors.
Trivia[]
- A few languages have the music video ending with Gummibär smiling, while others recycle the scene of him falling asleep again at the beginning.
- The Brazilian version is the only dubbed version to keep the original French instrumental.
- Due to people believing the music video had an abrupt ending, a rumor about a deleted scene that featured Gummibär being eaten by the crabs was spread throughout the community. Though this has been debunked since then.
- In the original French version of the music video, the game controller closely resembles a PS1 DualShock controller. Other languages have it modified to stray further from the DualShock design, likely to avoid legal action from Sony.
- This was the first video uploaded to The Official Gummibär Channel.
